Welcome Sotheara Kim to the family! January 29, 2007

It had been awhile now since my last entry to this blog and it’s not because I didn’t want to do any update but rather I found myself in a deep hectic schedule again for the last couple weeks. But first lets me just start off with one big good news. Last Friday (January 19th, 2007) my sister-in-law just gave birth to another baby girl; Jonathan’s younger sister (she’s like an angel to all of us now) her name is going to be Sotheara Kim (Sotheara means compassionate, generous; sweet flower in Cambodian) I heard from my sister as soon as she was born my brother (her father) was jumping up and down like a crazy man in the hospital (meanwhile I was busy chasing after Jonathan’s at home and changing his diapers while his mon and dad in the hospital: that wasn’t fun at all) Anyhow just to make the story short the reason my brother was jumping up and down like a crazy man happily that he got a baby girl because up until my sister-in-law went into labor we all didn’t know whether it’s going to be a baby boy or a baby girl. Six months after the pregnancy my sister-in-law did went in and have the ultrasound done but the Doctor couldn’t tell whether it was going to be a baby boy or a baby girl at that point and my sister-in-law did not go for another ultrasound to find out. My brother on the other hand really want to have a baby girl that why he was so excited when Sotheara was born. She is very healthy; her weight was 6 pounds and 4oz. when she was born.
Beside busy baby sitting Jonathan’s, I also started working again for the last two weeks as a Financial Consulting to PepsiCo. My primary responsibility there is to do financial analyst in direct support to various project managers that handle various different types of projects within PepsiCo business. Grandpa is still in the hospital, though he will get discharge this Tuesday and I haven’t been able to go to Boston again since I started working.

This is my first time to be back in Boston again in four years. My great uncle (but we called him grandpa) got ill and hospitalized since last week for his heart problem so my sister and I decided to take a three days trip to boston to visit him. When we left yesterday he seem to be doing a lot better with his heart condition.
Also took sometime to tour the city again with an old friend that I haven’t seeing her in four years and doing a lot of catching up chit chat stuff. It was nice of her to take an afternoon off from work to hang out with me again. Boston is still the same as Boston, street are still confusing to drive around (so I took my friend advise adventuring around the city by subways to meet up with her) Though structural-wise it seem to be much cleaner and a lot more new buildings are springing up or upgrade. boston-jan-2007-014.jpg boston-jan-2007-011.jpg

WOW – I have never seen kids torn up the house like this before. If you have ever watching a war torn in Iraq; well, our house was pretty much like that after the party was over at two o’clock in the morning. There were about twenty kids with the age range anywhere from one to twelve years old that came to Johnathan first birthday party . So you can imagine the house is like a war zone full with kids, and not to mention all the adults that came to the party as well. BUT, we were very happy that everyone enjoyed the party, especially all the kids. So here is Happy Birthday to the Birthday boy.
Update from Vietnam trip………. December 20, 2006

I am glad to be back to New York again from a short trip to Vietnam and back just in time for the holiday. For the last four years I have always been away from family during the holiday, so it’s rather wonderful to be able to spend time with the family again here in New York. Vietnam trip was rather half sad half fun; the saddest part was I just spent most of my time reminisced about my grandma past and her good deeds. When I was little, my mother usually ill-well (and she’s still until now) so most of the time my sibling and I had to stay with my grand mother so she could taking care of us and our needs. We had to stay with our grand mother for several years, one of the best thing when we lived with our grandparents is that my grand mother rarely yell at us, she usually let us play whenever we want and we can asked her for foods whenever we were hungry. She usually let us help her with her daily housekeeping tasks. But when I get little bit older and has to attend school, my grand mother and grand father had to regularly visited to my mother place during the day to help my mother taking care of me and the sibling. Now that grandma passed away all of that is just a good memory and soon will be a distance past. The fun part, I got the see all the relatives from my mother side include all the nices and nephews because everyone came for my grandma funeral, so it’s nice thing to see all of them again.

Interesting Video; If you have live in Korea long enough and you have the opportunities to scoop through the Korean drama on TV – Even if you don’t speak the language you can still pretty much understand a lot about the drama, because usually it is just base on a ”Triangular love” story like this one

I have to admit that as much as a city boy as I am, living in the South does somehow has an impact on me. I slowly learn to love country music, enjoying the calmness and beauty of nature, and don’t seems to be as adventurous as I used to be but rather just search for the calmness of life……..I know…I know I’m sound like a hippie’s practicing yoga right now
